Ongoing documentary project
Depending on which country one is a citizen of, one applies, pays for and receives a passport. This document allows certain travel powers and validates identity. Every few years, a new photograph of the passport holder must be made so their identity can be verified more accurately. Or so they say.

Permission engages with the perspective of the passport holder. What feelings arise from being surveilled? How do the experiences of a a person from one nation differ from those of another?
